| 1986, Chateau Beychevelle, Robert Parker 92 points, "One of the best Beychevelles in the last 30 years" | | | | | | | | | | | | | Chateau Lafite Rothschild, 1986. Robert Parker rating 100 points! "...outstanding richness...graceful, harmonious texture...penetrating fragrance of cedar, chestnuts, minerals, and rich fruit...Powerful, dense, rich, and tannic...this Lafite has immense potential." This sort of quality will never come cheap, but it's half the price of the 1982! | | | | | The above six bottles of Chateau Lafite Rothschild have very good levels but, as their appearance is less than perfect, they have sensibly been reduced for consumers (perfect condition would be 1500+).They were taken from a damp 12 bottle "owc". | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Chateau Margaux, 1986, Robert Parker 98 points - A magnificent example | | | | A second super Robert Parker 100 point score for Chateau Mouton Rothschild from the 1980's! An enthusiastic tasting comment from the great Robert Parker: "Comparable in quality but not style to the 1982, 1959 and 1945, A tour de force !" One must not lose sight of the fact these wines are now approaching 25 years old, yet still with a glorious drinking future over the next 30+ years. They were mainly sourced from private cellars and, although overall the levels are very good, some labels may have suffered a little with the passage of time. Due consideration to their presentation has been reflected in the prices, thus offering good savings to imbibers whilst still having lots in excellent condition to satisfy collectors. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
