	Unusually Ch. Montrose was made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon in 1961, as the Merlot was frosted. This explains a tough youth but tremendous staying power, now looking very fine. (RP 95 'classic, full throttle, massive wine' ).

	Some critics have been a bit unkind in their comments on 1964 Ch. Mouton Rothschild. We sampled a low level bottle, the tannin has all but disappeared, and the wine was soft and agreeable and held up for several hours. Many are offered with splendid labels.
